While my previous research on shift workers and shift work disorder taught me a lot about the negative effects that occur when natural circadian rhythms are disrupted, I was still curious about how to prevent these problems in the first place. That research opportunity provided me with a foundation of knowledge on some current sleep science and it also connected me with Arcascope.

Arcascope took many of the ideas that I had to read about in hard-to-digest scientific articles and packaged them into an easy to understand app that tells you exactly how to sync your internal clock with your specific needs. Every team member that I had the chance to meet with was dedicated to finding reasonable approaches that could help all kinds of working people get more restful sleep and eventually improve their quality of life. With my newfound interest in sleep and my continuing interest in computer science, I joined the team to complete a summer internship where I learned so much more.
